VLSI ASIC Verification Engineer

Full Chip Timing Engineer

What You’ll Do

You will be responsible for driving timing convergence/Timing-ECO generation at a full-chip level. Timing constraints(SDC) generation and management at Full-chip level. Work with Physical Design team to converge timing.

Who You’ll Work With

You will be working primarily within members of the Physical Design team.

Who You Are

  • You have 6+ years of Static Timing Analysis(STA) and timing convergence experience at full-chip/cluster-level/block-level.
  • You are experienced in Timing closure/ECO-generation at full-chip level/cluster-level.
  • You have a strong understanding of and experience in timing closure of TestModes such as scan shift, capture mode and Bist mode.
  • You have a strong understanding of Clock Domain Crossing/Clock Tree Synthesis topologies.
  • Familiar with timing closure techniques.
  • You have a strong understanding of Timing corners/modes/Signoff Margins, Process variations, deep-submicron effects and signal integrity.
  • You are proficient in scripting languages (TCL/Python/Perl) with strong automation skills.
  • You can develop and maintain existing timing flows and methodologies.
  • You have expertise in industry-standard STA tools (eg. Primetime/Tempus) and flow.

  • You are experienced in Timing Signoff Margin Methodology/Corner Merging.

DFT Engineer

What You’ll Do

You’ll work on DFT Implementation and Verification.

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll be working closely with our DFT team for Integration, verification of DFT features.

Who You Are

  • You have at least 2-3 years of Design for Test experience.
  • You must have sound knowledge of MBIST/SCAN/ATPG/JTAG
  • You should have good hands-on experience on Memory BIST generation, Insertion, verification.
  • You must have sound knowledge on scan insertion at block level
  • You should have sound Knowledge of JTAG for IEEE1149.1 standards
  • You should have industry-standard tool proficiency in scan insertion, ATPG, MBIST and JTAG (Synopsys/Mentor tools)
  • You should have experience on gate level simulations with notiming and SDF based simulation for DFT modes

Signal Integrity Engineer

What You’ll Do

You’ll be working across teams within the Harware department to drive soutions to meet Reurn Loss, Insertion Loss and Xtalk requirements for serdes signals and driving solutions to meet power delivery requirements. You’ll also work with teams for validation, test and debugging using multiple instruments for serdes performance and power delivery.

You’ll work with many of the teams within the Hardware department including the Package design team and PCB design team.

Who You Are

  • You are very familiar with EM simulations and EM methods, especially the Ansys Suite, i.e., Legacy HFSS, HFSS Designer and Siwave
  • You are comfortable working in the lab and willing to learn

It would be a big plus if

  • You had some experience channel modeling in the frequency and/or the time domain using spice-based simulators such as ADS or HSPICE.

End to End Power Owner

What You’ll Do

You’ll be responsible for SoC power estimation, simulation, roll-up and measurement for Innovium’s products. This is an end-to-end role that starts with architectural assessment and continues through the design and post-silicon phases. It also includes documenting power-related specifications in datasheets and working with customers on power-related topics.

Specific activities and responsibilities include:

  • Early-phase architectural power estimation using spreadsheet models, process technology scaling data, IP specifications, and comparison to existing products
  • Design-phase simulation/extraction and roll-up of power projections using analysis/estimation tools such as ptpx, redhawk and voltus. Iterate/improve the estimates as more accurate design collateral becomes available.
  • Silicon measurement of power across use cases. Extract static and dynamic components and build models that can be used to project power for new configurations (frequency, voltage, etc.).
  • Correlate silicon measurements to pre-silicon estimates in order to improve the pre-silicon estimation methodology
  • Provide input to datasheet on how power specifications should be documented – including max current by voltage rail, TDP by voltage rail, etc.
  • Support applications engineering teams in customer engagement related to power topics

Who You’ll Work With

  • SoC architects during the project feasibility phase
  • SoC design engineers (logic design as well as physical design) during the chip development phase.
  • Applications and silicon validation engineers during the post-silicon phase, and for customer engagement.

Who You Are

  • You have a solid understanding of SoC power estimation methodologies, starting with high-level architectural approaches and continuing through EDA-based power extraction/simulation and lab measurements.
  • You have knowledge and experience with power analysis tools like PTPX, redhawk, and Voltus.
  • You can define and implement a methodology to estimate/simulate power at individual block level and then roll it up at SoC level
  • You are familiar with power measurement methods and have experience in working with post-silicon teams to define and execute a power characterization plan.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills and experience/desire to engage with customers
  • You have at least a BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering. MS is preferrable, as is 10+ years of experience

Full Chip Clock Circuit Design and Simulation Engineer

What You’ll Do

You’ll be responsible for Circuit Design and SPICE simulation of high frequency, low power, low jitter, low skew custom global clock distribution networks at full-chip level. You will also set up SPICE simulations to come up with margins/guidelines and specifications for timing, clocks and power signoff such as timing uncertainty or EMIR specs. This position is a great fit for a veteran in the industry (10+ years experience), however, it could also be a good fit for someone with high energy looking to quickly expand their skill set.

Who You’ll Work With

You will work primarily with the full-chip timing team.

Who You Are

  • You have a solid understanding of deep submicron device physics and process and have experience with timing and electrical analysis of circuits, knowledge of CMOS process technologies and device ageing effects.
  • You have fundamental knowledge of Strong Static Timing Analysis (STA).
  • You have knowledge and hands-on experience of industry-standard circuits and design SPICE tools or similar.
  • You have experience in writing Python/Perl/ Tcl scripts to automate a variety of design tasks relating to custom clock design and large volume data handling
  • You should be a good team player with good communication skills and have a strong desire to learn
  • You have a BS Electrical/Computer Engineering

It would be a big plus if

  • You had 10+ years’ experience in the field.

You will work on DFT Architecture, Flow, Implementation, Verification and post silicon bring up.
